About Proconix – construction workflow platform UK & software for contractors
Proconix is construction software for contractors: one construction workflow platform for UK and EU sites to align with the office—project tracking, work logs, construction QA and materials in one system, not a slide deck. Below: who we are, who we serve, and our Greater Manchester base.
Our mission
Proconix gives construction and trades companies one place for projects, managers, operatives, work logs, approvals, quality assurance, materials and planning—so day-to-day work is not trapped in Excel, email threads and chat screenshots. That is the core of our construction workflow platform for teams who need project tracking for contractors without buying a generic ERP.
The product is aimed at small and mid-size contractors who already run real sites and need a clear split between manager dashboards (full overview, approvals, QA, materials) and operative workflows (clock in/out, tasks, work logs, issues, uploads).
Our story
Proconix grew out of a simple observation from the product specs we ship: most teams do not lack effort—they lack a single source of truth. The backend is Node.js and Express; data lives in PostgreSQL with a documented schema and audit-friendly patterns (for example work logs with approval states, QA jobs, planning tasks and material consumption).
You can run the app on your own server or VPS, which keeps hosting and data boundaries explicit—exact topology depends on how you deploy, and we walk through that on demos and in setup docs.
What we ship (concrete UK contractor tooling)
MVP scope today, in plain terms:
- Company registration and manager onboarding (token flow from company → first manager).
- Manager session (headers
X-Manager-Id/X-Manager-Email) and operative login with a focused dashboard. - Projects with assignments; operatives CRUD from the manager side.
- Work logs with submit / approve / reject / archive and manager tooling (including PDF reports via server-side generation).
- Quality Assurance: templates and jobs on projects (steps, cost types, status).
- Task & planning (Gantt and Kanban), materials module, site snags on drawings, profile and company settings.
Roadmap items such as deeper accounting integrations, richer risk/plants modules and subscription limits are documented as optional next steps—not vaporware we claim is live.
How we are different
Proconix is not a generic “business OS”. The UI and APIs are shaped around construction routines: work logs tied to jobs and photos, QA jobs aligned to projects and floors, materials and consumption next to labour visibility, and field flows that stay short for people in hi-vis—not eighty admin screens.
Because the stack is transparent (REST API, relational DB, static HTML/CSS/JS front end), teams can reason about backups, upgrades and ownership the same way they would about any other system they host.
Value for your team
- Faster approvals: one queue for work logs instead of chasing attachments.
- Clear roles: managers see the whole picture; operatives see today’s work.
- Better claims and QA traceability: structured jobs and logs beat loose folders.
- Sensible onboarding: many companies start with one live project and expand usage.

What we optimise for
- Clarity over hype: if a feature is placeholder in the app, we say so in the docs.
- Field-first flows: mobile operatives and desktop managers get separate, purposeful paths.
- Evidence: dashboards prefer real tables (work logs, QA, planning) over vanity charts.
